{"id":153678,"date":"2023-11-04T09:15:21","date_gmt":"2023-11-04T14:15:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blizzardwatch.com\/?p=153678"},"modified":"2023-11-04T09:27:45","modified_gmt":"2023-11-04T14:27:45","slug":"warcraft-rumble-pc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blizzardwatch.com\/2023\/11\/04\/warcraft-rumble-pc\/","title":{"rendered":"Can you play Warcraft Rumble on PC?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The question of whether you can play <em>Warcraft Rumble<\/em> on the PC seems like an easy one to answer, because Blizzard specifically announced it as a mobile game \u2014 but it\u2019s actually trickier than you might think.<\/p>\n<p>Will\u00a0<em>Warcraft Rumble<\/em>\u00a0be coming to the Battle.net Launcher alongside\u00a0<em>World of Warcraft<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Overwatch<\/em>, or\u00a0<em>Diablo 3<\/em>? Succinctly, no. <em>Warcraft Rumble<\/em> is being developed solely for Android, iPad, and iPhone. However, to paraphrase Jeff Goldblum, PC enthusiasts will (uh) find a way. If you either can\u2019t or won\u2019t play <em>Warcraft Rumble<\/em>\u00a0on a mobile device, there is another option: welcome to the wide world of emulators, specifically Android emulators.<\/p>\n<p>I do a fair amount of mobile gaming, but my phone is a few years out of date so even without announced specs I doubt my phone is up to the challenge\u00a0\u2014 and that\u2019s before throwing additional capture software or even a direct streaming software like Streamlabs Mobile on top of its poor, poor overtaxed GPU. If I use an emulator instead, I can just use my normal capture software and if things start slowing down I can just throw some extra sticks of RAM at it. Easy peasy. I use an emulator called\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210202074730\/https:\/\/downloadnox.onl\/\">Nox<\/a>, which is designed to be relatively plug and play while still allowing you to remap keys to make those mobile hotkeys and gestures more intuitive for you.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210202074730\/https:\/\/www.bluestacks.com\/\">Bluestacks<\/a>\u00a0is another popular emulator designed for gaming.<\/p>\n<p>There are a few caveats here. The main one is that you still need a Google account in order to use the Play store. I\u2019d recommend using a \u201cburner\u201d account if possible, and as always make sure to use security best practices: don\u2019t reuse passwords, use a password manager like LastPass if possible, etc. You will also likely want to log in to your Battle.net account, though it is possible to play as a Guest without logging in. Also note that, even with all the keybinds in the world, playing on emulators can still be a bit clunky, especially on games which use both joystick movement and requires you to \u201ctap\u201d on objects to interact. I also find it a bit jarring to play games designed for portrait orientation on a standard 16:9 widescreen monitor \u2014 all this real estate, and I\u2019m relegated to a tiny sliver in the middle.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re still interested by <em>Warcraft Rumble<\/em> but want more customization, have an older phone, or just don\u2019t feel comfortable playing on a mobile platform, an emulator may be worth a try.<\/p>\n<p><em>Originally posted May 3, 2022.
