Yes, we’re still in Season 3<\/a> of Diablo 4<\/em><\/a>, but it’s never to early to start planning for Season 4! Thanks to the Season 4 PTR a<\/a>nnouncement, we now have confirmation that Diablo 4<\/em> Season 4 will start on \u00a0Tuesday, May 14, 2024,\u00a0<\/strong>slightly later than it was originally planned to launch in order to accommodate PTR testing.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, we had hoped that Season 4 would be the harbinger of a new start date plan. After the start of Season 2, Global Community Development Director Adam Fletcher responded to player feedback on the X (formerly Twitter) platform with the following:<\/p>\n

We noticed this isn\u2019t ideal and plan to adjust in future seasons to later in the week. More like Thursday or Fridays.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Sadly, that shift is not happening in Season 4. Now, it would be a huge win to finally getting a Friday start date; it makes life a lot easier for those of us with non-gaming day jobs. But it also means we have a shift to look forward to in the future, so don’t lose hope.<\/p>\n

Season 4 also has the distinction of the development team running the first Diablo 4<\/em> seasonal PTR. The PTR runs from April 2 to 9<\/strong>, so that’s a full five weeks to integrate feedback and go through development for any changes.\u00a0We also know there are a ton of changes coming with Season 4’s patch for both eternal and seasonal play with big improvements to itemization and associated crafting systems. They have a really good reason to run public testing. Arguably, that reasoning has existed for every season, but I wholly support these efforts occurring now.<\/p>\n

Regardless, Season 3 is the first instance of the Diablo<\/em> team breaking the planned three month runtime and with some solid reasons. Season 4 will bring some amazing quality-of-life changes to the title, right before its first anniversary, and we know it’ll kick off once Season 3 ends<\/a> (give or take a few hours). We’ll see you in Diablo 4<\/em> Season 4 on May 14.<\/p>\n
