It’s been almost ten years since the original premiere of the Warcraft<\/em> movie, and the film has recently reappeared in the Netflix<\/a> streaming library. No matter how you felt about the production (we liked it<\/a>), that makes now the perfect time to revisit the film.<\/p>\n

It’s a solid fantasy movie with a lot of feeling and style. It’s no longer cutting edge, but the CGI work on the characters holds up impressively well. And it gets to the heart of what makes WoW<\/em> so special. Many studios have tried and failed to capture the magic of an interactive gaming experience in a non-interactive movie. There’s no questing or raiding to be had in the movie, but Warcraft<\/em> still lets you immerse yourself in the world and people of Azeroth for a few hours, and that’s what counts.<\/p>\n

Obviously, those of us who live and breathe WoW<\/em> lore will understand every minor reference and knowing wink that the Warcraft<\/em> movie contains. And there are so, so many of them. As director Duncan Jones insisted at every single BlizzCon appearance during production, the people behind the cameras are series WoW<\/em> fans.<\/p>\n

And whatever their connection to the game, the talent in front of the camera is a great lineup of newer faces and some industry veterans. Here are the performers who brought the Warcraft<\/em> lore to life on screen.<\/p>\n
