We don’t have an official release date for Hearthstone<\/em><\/a> Battlegrounds<\/a> Season 9 yet, but based on the release dates for previous seasons, our educated guess is that Season 9 will arrive\u00a0 December 2024.<\/strong> The new season should also rotate the mechanics of the game, possibly removing Trinkets<\/a> in favor of some other mechanic, and reset player ratings for both regular Battlegrounds and Duos.

Season 9 should also give us a new Battlegrounds Track filled with cosmetics that follow a specific new theme, and a new Season Pass. Assuming the pricing doesn’t change, you should be able to get the Season Pass for either 1500 Runestones (if you buy it in-game) or $15 (if you get it from the Battle.net shop<\/a>). The Season Pass unlocks extra cosmetics, but — perhaps more importantly — it allows you to choose from four heroes instead of two on every game. So while the pass is not required<\/em> to play the game, it does sadly give you a distinct gameplay advantage.<\/p>\n

It’s also possible that Season 9 will also shake up the roster, removing minions from the game, returning some specific old minions that had been removed before, rebalancing a few of the existing minions, but more importantly, adding new minions to the fray. It’s also expected that the new season should add at least one new Hero to the rotation, as well as rebalance existing ones.<\/p>\n

H<\/em>earthstone<\/em> Battlegrounds Seasons are analogous to expansions for Constructed Hearthstone,<\/em> lasting for about four months each. They\u2019re always released on x.2 patches:<\/p>\n
