This means that instead of being listed by when the material was published, it\u2019s being listed by its order in the <em>Warcraft<\/em> lore timeline so you can start at the beginning and read your way all to the end if that&#8217;s what you want. Knaak. The Aspects have expended the last of their powers to defeat Deathwing, but where does this leave the dragonflights? Kalecgos, former Aspect of the Blue Dragonflight, finds a mysterious artifact that may hold the answers\u2026 if the visions don\u2019t kill him, first. All visions in this five-part story take place before the <em>War of the Ancients<\/em>, present-day material takes place during <em>Mists of Pandaria<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/worldofwarcraft.com\/en-us\/story\/short-story\/destination-pandaria\/death-from-above\"><strong><em>Death From Above<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by Robert Brooks. While Mantid swarms may be predictable, the actions of the Paragons are definitely not. This story tells the tale of Kil\u2019ruk the Wind-Reaver, and the epilogue for the story takes place during <em>Mists of Pandaria<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/dp\/1416552030\/?tag=blizwatc-20\"><strong><em>The War of the Ancients Trilogy<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by Richard A. Flashbacks in this series take place just after the War of the Ancients.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/worldofwarcraft.com\/en-us\/story\/short-story\/war-of-the-shifting-sands?cmsMode=live\"><strong><em>The War of the Shifting Sands<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by Micky Neilson. Although this story involves the opening of the Gates of Ahn\u2019Qiraj, the flashbacks in the tale date back to the original War of the Shifting Sands, 1,000 years before the orcs first appeared on Azeroth.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/dp\/0989700135\/?tag=blizwatc-20\"><strong><em>Rise of the Horde<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by Christie Golden. The Orc clans of Draenor find themselves embroiled in war against the Draenei, and inadvertently succumbing to dark powers they barely comprehend. Shattered by the systematic slaughter of his people, the Draenei Paladin Nobundo finds himself succumbing to a disease that severs his connection to the Light. Will the elements of Draenor\u2019s shattered husk help him find his way? The story of the Orc Thrall, son of Durotan, and his rise from slave to Warchief of the Horde. If you\u2019ve done Caverns of Time: Durnholde Keep, you\u2019ll recognize a lot of familiar faces and events in this novel.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/worldofwarcraft.com\/en-us\/story\/short-story\/leader-story\/genn-greymane\"><strong><em>Genn Greymane: Lord of His Pack<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by James Waugh. The story of Genn Greymane and his struggle to lead his people. This story takes place at two different points in the timeline: flashbacks to shortly after the Second War, involving Greymane, Gilneas, and the withdrawal from the Alliance of Lordaeron.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/dp\/1416525823\/?tag=blizwatc-20\"><strong><em>Of Blood and Honor<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by Chris Metzen.
